cmdbook Product Terms

Effective: 2026-11-05
Last updated: 2026-11-05

These terms describe the cmdbook plans. They form part of the printf.app End User License Agreement, and take priority over it where the two differ. Current prices are shown on the cmdbook pricing page and at checkout.

1. Free plan

The cmdbook Free plan has no time limit and needs no account or activation. It includes the features marked Free on the pricing page, on any number of your devices, including at work. It does not let you sell or redistribute cmdbook itself.

2. cmdbook Pro

cmdbook Pro unlocks the features marked Pro on the pricing page. A Pro license is for one individual on up to 3 devices. Every Pro plan includes the Pro features available when you buy it; the plans differ in how long you receive later versions.

2.1 Lifetime Use + 1-Year Updates (Subscription)

2.2 Lifetime Use + Lifetime Updates (One-Time)

2.3 Plans no longer sold

Licenses bought under a plan we no longer sell, such as Lifetime Use + 3-Year Updates (One-Time), keep the terms shown at the time of purchase. For the 3-Year plan, that means versions released within three years of purchase, kept for use after the period ends.

3. Which versions a plan covers

Coverage is decided by each version's release date: a version is covered if it was released on or before the last day of your update coverage. Covered versions stay covered permanently, so you can keep using them or reinstall them later. If you install a version released after your coverage ended, Pro features stay locked in that version until you renew, or you can reinstall a covered version.

4. Devices and activation

5. Refunds

cmdbook purchases follow the Refund Policy (7 days from your order confirmation).

6. Your commands, local access and AI tools

Your command library is stored locally on your devices. cmdbook runs the commands and scripts you save, with your user account's permissions. Its command-line tool, local HTTP API and MCP server listen only on your own computer (127.0.0.1) and let tools you choose, including AI agents, read, change and run your saved commands. You are responsible for what you allow those tools to do. Secrets you store in cmdbook are kept in your operating system's keychain.

7. Feature changes

We may rename, improve, combine or move features between versions. A Pro feature included in a version covered by your plan will not be moved to a separate paid product for that version.
